I haven't been doing it. Boo for me.
I have an excuse though! Two words: wedding invitations. They took over my life thanks to the possessed HP All-In-One at my parents' house. It wouldn't feed the lovely invitation paper I had chosen because it is not a smooth edge. After three weeks of driving an hour down to my parents' 1-3 times per week, I gave up and busted out my dinky little printer. PRESTO! Invitations printed! Needless to say, they are done, looked beautiful, and were sent off in the mail yesterday. My mother-in-law-to-be said that she got theirs today! Cleveland mail must be fast!
Now that wedding invitations are over I thought that I might have a little time to, oh unpack the office, since we HAVE been living here since MAY. But then I had my bridal shower this weekend. It was SO amazing. My aunt did a great job! Everything was cute and laid back and not too girly. And all of my friends and family were super generous. We are SO lucky! I was a good girl and got the thank you cards promptly done and now it is time to unpack and put away all the stuff we got! As JR says, "It's like Christmas!"
Then today in our door we get a notice that on Thursday (please note it is after 2pm on Tuesday), some state agency will be doing random inspections at our complex. Now we knew this was a possibility because it told us in the lease. There are two problems with this however. 1) The list of things to make sure we're NOT doing includes not having a lot of clutter around. Our office is currently stacked full of shower gifts, school boxes, and stuff that we have yet to unpack from the move. Guess what I'm spending my day off tomorrow doing? 2) They can come anytime from 9am-6pm and we don't have to be here, but I'm still a bit creeped out by people I don't know possibly coming in my house when I'm not home. Is that weird? However, I can't miss out on work for the day just to sit around for 9 hours because they MIGHT come. Ugh.
On top of all this, I am teaching a new course in the fall that I have not even BEGUN to write. I also need to reorganize things for my other classes. I wanted to get a lot done this summer, but wedding planning sort of took over. Now school is 25 days away and I have nothing done. I WAS going to go down to school tomorrow, but the possible inspection ruined that plan.
So much to do, so little time.
Speaking of... I should be putting more new dishes away so I can reload the dishwasher instead of blogging.
Buenos noches :)

Whew...
Today was a busy day and one full of emotions.
I started off the day with a trip to my ophthalmologist for another check-up on my eye situation. (Backstory: Around Christmas I was having problems with my right eye, ended up being another case of my weird "cold-sore of the eye" ailment.) It was not a fun or good visit. They looked at my eyes about 5 different ways, meaning lots of drops and weird lights and poking my eye to check the pressure. They tried a hard contact on the scarred eye to see if the pressure from the hard lens on the scar would reshape it at all to possibly improve my vision. No luck. I could only read SOME letters one row up on the letter chart from where I was without the lens. This means its not worth the cost and hassle of using the hard lens. What this means is that the only solution left for me is a cornea transplant. Eek! I am not ready for all that that type of surgery would entail - meaning cutting off part of my eye, replacing it with part of a donor's eye, wearing an eye patch temproarily, 3-4wks regular healing time, and up to a year for my vision to correct... IF it corrects at all (the procedure only has a 70% chance of working). The one upside to the stuation is that my doctor said that there is no rush on the surgery and that I can get it when and if I choose. The downside is that I am stuck with glasses and being mostly blind in my right eye. Depressing considering that I'm only 26. :(
In better news... I got to hang out and catch up with two of my Sarahs today. After the dissappointing doctors visit, I met Scroggy for lunch at Aladdin's. I admire her so much right now because she is preparing to donate her kidney to her brother! WOW. That is such a huge gift and I admire that she is that selfless. After lunch I headed down to Canton to visit Ms. Thomas. She, and Percy the dog, and I went to the park for a walk. We sat and chatted by the lake and got to see two herons and a momma duck with 4 babies! Made the day seem better and less stressed.
Now it's time for more wedding planning. I think I have figured out what I want to do for centerpieces, and tonight I am going to start searching for exactly what flowers I want to use for my girls' bouquets, my bouquet, and the boys' flowers. Tomorrow after working at the restaurant, I plan on going down to the parents to start trial runs of the invites and to start addressing envelopes. So much to do and so little time!
Speaking of... I think this is enough for today :)
PS - Goal for next week: investigate grad school options, preferably ones that do not require me to take the GRE!

Numero Uno
I used to blog a long time ago and I miss just the everyday writing of it. I want to get back into writing more and I figure this is a good place to start.
Lately the only big thing going on is wedding planning. Today is 89 days till the big day! Things are really starting to fall into place and I'm getting down to the details. There is so much more that goes into planning a wedding than one would ever imagine! It will all be worth it in the end though I am sure :)
Off to bed now... hopefully I won't talk in my sleep about wedding stuff and keep JR up again tonight! Lol.
